Process and procedures to work at Grandvalira Resorts
It is recommended not to travel to Andorra without a work contract or pre-contract; vacancies are limited, and the selection process at Grandvalira Resorts is done at the place of origin.
A) CALENDAR AND SELECTION PROCESS
The selection process for the winter season begins in September and, as mentioned, only CVs submitted through the GVR website are accepted.
From that moment until the end of October, the selection and hiring confirmation process takes place. Interviewed candidates will receive an email from the HR team confirming, or not, their hiring.
Immigration procedures to obtain a residence and work permit in Andorra typically take between 3 and 7 days. The Human Resources departments of each station will specify the dates and procedures individually.
B) THE SEASON
The start date is determined by the job position and weather conditions, which determine the opening date of each station. In general, there are two incorporation dates at all stations: the first weekend of December or the last of November (this may vary depending on the season) and mid to late December (before the Christmas holidays).
The contract is until 31/03 each season, with the possibility of extension, depending on needs and conditions, until the station closes (usually mid-April or around Easter).
C) INTEGRATION PROCESS
- Confirmation: Once the company confirms by email, the adventure begins.
- Pre-contract: If you are a national of a non-European Community country, you will need to request the pre-contract from the HR department to travel without problems.
- Work permit processing: this procedure, detailed in the next section, can only be carried out by an Andorran company; it is not an individual procedure. If it is your first time working in Andorra, this process takes 4-5 working days (provided all the necessary documents are in order). For personnel who worked in Andorra the previous season, regardless of the company, the process takes 3 working days.
- Initial training and medical examination (mandatory for certain job positions).
- Opening a bank account in Andorra: It is essential, and mandatory according to labor law, to open a bank account in a financial institution in the Principality of Andorra to deposit your salary.
- It is recommended to arrive in the country with some anticipation (ideally at least 10 days before starting, especially for those who have never worked in Andorra).
D) DOCUMENTATION FOR OBTAINING RESIDENCE AND WORK PERMIT
Below is a summary of the documentation required to complete the procedure. Each company will provide you with more detailed information on the matter.
- Valid passport or ID. Original and copy. In case of dual nationality, both must be presented. For the immigration process, HR will keep the document for the next 24 business hours after the appointment.
- Criminal record certificate from the country (or countries) of nationality and residence, apostilled by The Hague. Important: The immigration service will deny the residence and work permit to anyone with a criminal record, regardless of the type of offense or country.
- Criminal record certificate from Andorra. Only staff who have previously worked in Andorra must present this.
- Civil status certificate.
- Accommodation certificate, rental contract, or deed.
- Updated and signed CV.
- Proof of education and/or experience.
- CASS points. If you have worked in Andorra before, you must present the CASS points.
- 1 recent passport-size photo (35x40mm).
